Public Hearing Scheduled for Proposed Historic Overlay District Bylaw Amendments

Posted Wednesday, January 15, 2020

The purpose of the meeting is to consider and receive public comment on Draft #1 of the proposed Historic Overlay District Bylaw Amendments dated January 6, 2020.  The draft bylaw amendments are available at this link

The purpose of these amendments is to encourage a consistently high standard of design in renovations and new construction to support and maintain the historical, architectural, and cultural significance of the Historic Overlay District.  The purpose is also to review proposed demolition of historic structures and encourage the maintenance of these buildings. These bylaw amendments apply to all the Historic Districts in the Town of Waterbury including the expanded Waterbury Village Historic District, and all the individually listed historic structures and sites.  Copies of the proposed bylaw amendments may be examined at the Municipal Offices, 28 N. Main St., Waterbury, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  For additional information or questions please contact Steve Lotspeich, the Community Planner, at 244-1012 or via e-mail at slotspeich@ waterburyvt.com
