PROJECT NOTICE: On Tuesday, August 5 and Wednesday, August 6, at 6 p.m., night work will begin on the Stowe Street Town Bridge Replacement Project. Nighttime construction hours are from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Construction during daytime hours will resume at 6 a.m. and proceed until 6 p.m. Night work will resume on Monday, August 11, at 6 p.m.

The contractor is required to mitigate noise during the nighttime hours from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and crews will be actively monitoring noise using decimal readers. 

TRAFFIC IMPACTS: Beginning today, Tuesday, August 5, during daytime hours, the shoulder of Vermont Route 100 (VT 100) northbound will be periodically closed while the precast pieces are delivered.

Stowe Street TownBridge #36 on Stowe Street over Thatcher Brook will remain closed to all traffic during the 60-day closure. The signed detour directs traffic along Waterbury-Stowe Road (VT 100), U.S. 2, and Stowe Street.

Due to construction delays, the reopening of the Stowe Street Town Bridge #36 is now set for Tuesday, August 26.
Motorists are asked to stay alert and not follow trucks while traveling through the work zone.

The 21-day closure of Lincoln Street is tentatively scheduled to begin on Monday, August 11 at 6:30 a.m. The signed detour will direct traffic to Perry Hill Road, Kneeland Flats Road, and Guptil Road. Pedestrians will still have access to Lincoln Street and Stowe Street during the closure. While the Lincoln Street closure is planned for 21-days, the contractor is aiming to have Lincoln Street reopen after a 14-day closure on Friday, August 22. Please note all dates are subject to change.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES: On Tuesday, August 5 and Wednesday, August 6, during nighttime hours, crews will be setting the stone fill in front of the precast footings.

From Wednesday, August 6, through Friday, August 8, during daytime hours, crews will continue setting the precast frame. There is a total of 37 individual precast pieces that combine to form the structure, which crews will be assembling throughout the week and into next week.
