[Waterbury Stowe Street TownBridge #36 Replacement Project]
The Reopening of Lincoln Street and Stowe Street is Now Scheduled for Wednesday, August 27
The reopening of Lincoln Street and Stowe Street has been delayed. Crews will reopen the roadways after paving activities on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.
Temporary accommodations will be made for bus stops at the end of the project site. Following the reopening, motorists should expect alternating one-way traffic on Lincoln Street and Stowe Street. All dates are subject to change.
Lincoln Street remains closed to all vehicular traffic until Wednesday, August 27. The signed detour will direct traffic to Perry Hill Road, Kneeland Flats Road, and Guptil Road. Pedestrian and bicycle access will be maintained on Lincoln Street and Stowe Street during the roadway closure.
Stowe Street TownBridge #36 on Stowe Street over Thatcher Brook remains closed to all traffic until the evening of Wednesday, August 27. The signed detour directs traffic along Waterbury-Stowe Road (VT 100), U.S. 2, and Stowe Street.
Motorists are asked to stay alert and not follow trucks while traveling through the work zone. Businesses located on Stowe Street remain open during construction.
In order to accommodate pedestrians needing to cross the bridge, the Town of Waterbury is offering an on-demand shuttle service for those who need local assistance.
