Summary - Fiscal and HR Impact

The Grand List lodged by the Board of Listers in July 2026 is valued at $8,114,265.000 for FY’27, which represents a 0.59% increase from last year’s value ($8,066,457.00).

At Town Meeting in March, voters approved the amount of $4,465,744.00 to be raised – a 0.11% increase from last year, but less than the growth rate of the Grand List, resulting in a slight decline in the municipal tax rate (from $0.5530 to $0.5504, a decrease of 0.47%). Adding in voter-approved exemptions ($1,733,400.000, or a rate of $0.0048), the total municipal property tax rate for FY’27 is $0.5552.

Education taxes increased by 3.78% for homestead and 3.30% for non-homestead. Consequently, the homestead education tax rate is $2.2567 (up from $2.1744) and the non-homestead education tax rate is $2.2482 (up from $2.1764).  

Therefore, pursuant to 17 V.S.A. § 266416 V.S.A. § 428, and 32 V.S.A. § 5402(b)(1) the Select Board has certified the total homestead tax rate as $2.8119 and the total non-homestead tax rate as $2.8034
