Animal Control
The Animal Control Officer deals with dog issues in Waterbury, including:
- Bringing lost or run-away dogs to the pound or owner
- Dog bites
- Unlicensed dogs
- Neighbor complaints about barking/aggressive dogs

To report concerns please call the non-emergency line of the Vermont State Police at 802-229-9191 and request to report to the local Game Warden.
Dog Licenses
All dogs 6 months of age or older must be licensed each year. Licenses must be purchased annually between January 1st and April 1st. There is a late charge if purchased after April 1st.
In order to license your dog you must present the following items to the Town Clerk’s Office:
- A copy of a valid rabies certificate (unless one is already on file).
- Cash or a check made payable to "Town of Waterbury" for the correct amount.
