Pursuant to 24 V.S.A. Chapter 117, Section 4384, the residents of the Town of Waterbury and all other interested persons are hereby notified that the Select Board for the Town of Waterbury will convene a public hearing on:

The purpose of the hearing is to consider and receive public comment on Draft #3 of the proposed 2018 Municipal Plan for the Town of Waterbury dated November 5, 2018.

These revisions to the Waterbury Municipal Plan are consistent with the goals established in Title 24, Chapter 117 § 4302. The draft Municipal Plan applies to all lands within the boundary of the Town of Waterbury. The purpose of the proposed update to the Plan is:
- To satisfy the requirements of Title 24, Chapter 117 § 4382(a)(2)(D) regarding forest fragmentation, habitat blocks and wildlife connectors;
- To satisfy the requirements of Title 24, Chapter 117 § 4382(a)(2)(C) Downtown and Village Center designation;
- To satisfy the requirements of Title 24, Chapter 117 § 4382(9) in order to receive an affirmative determination of energy compliance under 24 V.S.A. § 4352 for the Waterbury Municipal Plan to receive “substantial deference” in Public Utilities Commission proceedings involving the siting of electrical generation facilities; and
- To satisfy all other statutory requirements in Title 24, Chapter 117 § 4382 as addressed in the following Municipal Plan chapters: Historic Resources, Demographics, Local Economy, Housing, Natural Resources, Energy, Transportation, Facilities and Services, Local Government, and Land Use, and the associated maps and appendices.
