Waterbury Recreation and Sports

Waterbury has an exciting mix of year-round opportunities for recreation and sports in the community: ice skating and frisbee golf, tennis, baseball and soccer, swimming, biking and many others too!

  • Spring Travel Soccer
  • Tennis Courts Public courts with night lights are available at Anderson Fields, near the swimming pool.

  • Waterbury-Stowe Fish and Game Club Located on a 33 acre parcel of land on Route 100 in Waterbury Center, Vermont. The club was established in 1949 and presently the club has 300 members and is very active thoughout the year. The club objectives are to preserve the natural resources, to promote cooperation between landowners and sportsmen, to teach our children hunting & fishing, and to promote hunter education. http://www.wsfgc.com

Playing Fields for Community Sports

Youth and adults enjoy quality sports fields for play. The Town of Waterbury maintains the fields and the Waterbury Recreation Committee oversees their use and development. Contact the Waterbury Municipal office 244-7033 or email.

  • Anderson Fields located behind the swimming pool
  • Dascomb "Dac" Rowe Fields at north end of Main Street
  • Hope Davey Fields behind the Fire Station in Waterbury Center
  • Seminary Fields behind the Seminary in Waterbury Center

Additional playing fields are located at Thatcher Brook Elementary School and Crossett Brook Middle School. Contact the schools for more information about their use.

Facilities

Waterbury has public facilities that are available for rent for private use.

Hope Davey Memorial Park Shelter (Waterbury Center)
Reserve the Hope Davey Memorial Park Shelter for birthday parties, class or family reunions or just for a fun day at the park.

Rusty Parker Park Pavillion (Waterbury Village Downtown)

Reservations to use The Hope Davey Memorial Park Shelter or Rusty Parker Park Pavilion are required along with a deposit. Contact the Waterbury Municipal office at 244-7033. Download the request form here.

Community Garden Plot Info
Several acres of land located behind the library building and above the Dac Rowe playing fields has been worked for twenty-plus years by Waterbury community gardeners. Plots are available and can be reserved by contacting WaterburyCommunityGardens@gmail.com.
